God Loves Builders!
Are you a builder? Work in construction or renovation? If so, i’ve got GREAT news for you!
Recently, I was watching a show about a family who purchased a run down house in Portugal. They were restoring an old stone house to reflect the beauty it once was. As I watched, I felt God’s heart come in close to me. His heart was overwhelmingly pleased! He clearly said, “ I love builders”. I was a little surprised at His interest in something that seems so trivial compared to Him. I felt Him sit next to me and watch the show with me. He was so pleased and I could sense His genuine smile of enjoyment!
I pondered this moment and remembered how God had taught Noah how to build the ark. God also gave instructions for building the temple and the ark of the covenant. We later see that Jesus was a carpenter. In Exodus 35:31, We see God giving Bezalel special abilities: “And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and wisdom, with intelligence and understanding, and with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, bronze, in cutting of stones for setting, and in carving wood for work in every skilled craft.”
Amazing!! Looking around our world, all of the architecture ideas originated from God. When we admire old and new buildings, our spirits are actually experiencing the awe of the original creator’s wisdom, intelligence, and ability He has given men. People are drawn to the nature of God without realizing it. I wonder how else is God revealing Himself that draws people to Him?
I then thought about my dad. He was a carpenter and superintendent for large construction projects. I remember my dad always seemed to come alive in his work. I bet he felt close to God when he built and did carpentry. If he were alive today, I’m sure he would expresses these exact feelings.
Here’s to my dad and to the most amazing God who gives us ability, wisdom and knowledge in His creative ways!
Encourage a friend who is in the building/construction/renovation field by sending this post to them. I’m sure they’d love to hear how pleased God is with their work! And maybe this will encourage them to ask God for more ability! It appears God loves to give it out.
